Motivational Cards

Motivational Cards were created by Dr. Julie Ann Allender, a licensed psychologist in
private practice in Sellersville PA, with a lot of love and caring. Her motivation for the
cards was in knowing that people often need a boost to get themselves motivated and
the professional facilitator cannot always be present. The cards offer the person ways to
self motivate in a fun and pleasant manner.
The sayings are mostly Dr. Allender’s. There are 54 cards in a deck and they come with
a purple holder (her favourite colour) so the card being worked on at the time can stand
up in front of the person using them. The sayings are ones that are intended to help a
person have a better and more productive day.
Sayings such as: I can do it! Excuses be gone. Do it right the 2nd time. Mistakes are
how I learn. Teach me so I can learn, and many more. One important card encouraged
by a client is the Wild card, which allows for a crappy day. The Wild card is of a very
unhappy Falcon stuck in a blueberry netting. Dr. Allender lovingly freed the bird from her
blueberry bush after taking the picture.
The pictures are taken from Dr. Allender’s extensive photo library. She has been an
amateur photographer for close to 40 years. Each picture was meticulously chosen to
go along with the saying. Some of them are just too cute. Her dogs will win one over
and make almost anyone smile. They are terrific gifts.
